Larry D. Burks, MPA, CED, ICMA-CM
was appointed to
the Board in January 2021 to represent businesses that own petroleum
underground storage tanks. Since 2017, Mr. Burks has been the Administrator of
West Chester Township, a community of approximately 64,000 residents and
3,600 businesses located between Cincinnati and Dayton. As administrator,
he oversees daily operations of the state’s largest township with an
operational budget of more than $40 million and a staff of over 300
people.
Mr. Burks earned a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Studies -
Geography and Planning and a Master’s Degree in Public Administration -
Public Management, both from the University of Nebraska Omaha. He is a
credentialed manager through the International City/County Managers
Association and holds a professional certificate in Economic Development
from NeighborWorks America. Burks has nearly 20 years of public service
and his specific areas of expertise include
conflict resolution, financial condition analysis, green technology, brownfields, and strategic planning.
